Welcome to the Shatnerverse!

If you enjoy reading Star Trek novels but have yet to read any penned by Wild Bill Shatner then I urge you to reconsider! And here is why…

The Ashes of Eden: This story is set 6 months before Jim Kirks first ‘death’ on the maiden voyage of the USS Enterprise-B. The story finds Kirk on Earth contemplating retirement, as you would expect he is not exactly thrilled by the prospect! Just when the outlook is at its most bleak for our hero he is offered one last mission, and the offer is not from Starfleet…

A beautiful (naturally) woman takes Kirk to an uncharted world, a world steeped in Klingon and Romulan intrigue which needs a protector… Kirk must battle assassins, dark conspiracy and even Captain Sulu if he is to survive this one!

As you would expect Shatner knows how to write Jim Kirk and the larger than life characterisation leaps off the page here, if there had been room for another film between STAR TREK VI and GENERATIONS then this story would have made a wonderful movie!

The Return: Jumps forward in time and takes place after the loss of the Enterprise-D. This story develops into one of the best TOS/TNG crossovers I have ever read.

Kirk’s body is stolen from the humble grave where Picard left him and reanimated by a shaky Borg/Romulan Alliance who plan to put an end to the Federation once and for all. This makes for another great adventure story, and look out for the ageing Admiral McCoy who has certainly lost none of his caustic charm! Oh and Kirk dies for the second (or is that third?) time… Oh shush! You know he comes back in…

Avenger: Hurrah! Kirk does the loose cannon (or is that loose canon?) bit once more to save the Federation from starvation! Along the way he helps Spock uncover a conspiracy involving Sarek and unlocks painful repressed memories of his own. Great drama for these beloved characters here.

These are only the first three books depicting the second life of Captain Kirk all of which are great page turners and have lots to enjoy! Detractors may say that these stories are ghost written however, well personally when Star Trek Books are this much fun I don’t care who wrote them! Just sit back and enjoy the ride!
