R20AB/17-01 – Region Promotion Policy

 

Issued by the Office of the Regional Co-Ordinator – R20

1.0  Promotion past O-5 in Region 20 will be administered as set out below: 
a. The Regional team will create and maintain a list of all R20 personnel with a rank of O-5 and above.
b. When personnel are eligible for promotion to the next rank, the Chapter CO will be contacted to see if promotion is relevant given the interaction and involvement of the officer concerned. Promotion applications will then be submitted on the following criteria
2. General: 
  a. All personnel for promotion past grade O-5 shall:
  i. Have passed OTS and OCC

ii. Be members of R20 SFI and in good standing

  b. For promotion to and past O-7, it is recommended that personnel have also passed FOS-101

 

3. Promotion to O-6 (CAPT) 

   

In accordance with STARFLEET Admiralty Board Order AB97-03, Regional Coordinators can promote someone to the grade of O-6 using the guidelines set forth in said document.
  a. Personnel will have served 24 months (In STARFLEET)

b. Personnel will have served 18 months in grade as O-5

c. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent support towards their chapter

d. Personnel will have demonstrated involvement in the region

4. Promotion to O-7 (FCPT) 

In accordance with the Flag Officer Promotion guidelines:
  a. Personnel will have served 18 months in grade as O-6

b. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent support towards their chapter since their last promotion

c. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent involvement in the region since their last promotion

d. Promotion will be agreed by the Fleet Executive Committee and awarded by the RC

5. Promotion to O-8 (COMM) 

In accordance with the Flag Officer Promotion guidelines:
  a. Personnel will have served 21 months in grade as O-7

b. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent support towards their chapter since their last promotion

c. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent involvement in the region since their last promotion

d. Promotion will be agreed by the Fleet Executive Committee and awarded by the RC

6. Promotion to O-9 (RADM) 

In accordance with the Flag Officer Promotion guidelines:
  a. Personnel will have served 24 months in grade as O-8

b. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent support towards their chapter since their last promotion

c. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent involvement in the region since their last promotion

d. Promotion will be agreed by the Fleet Executive Committee and awarded by the RC

7. Promotion to O-10 (VADM) 

In accordance with the Flag Officer Promotion guidelines:
  a. Personnel will have served 30 months in grade as O-9

b. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent support towards their chapter since their last promotion

c. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent involvement in the region since their last promotion

d. Promotion will be agreed by the Fleet Executive Committee and awarded by the RC

8. Promotion to O-11 (ADM) 

In accordance with the Flag Officer Promotion guidelines:
  a. Personnel will have served 36 months in grade as O-10

b. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent support towards their chapter since their last promotion

c. Personnel will have demonstrated consistent involvement in the region since their last promotion

d. Promotion will be agreed by the Fleet Executive Committee and awarded by the RC
